Polycarbonate vs Acrylic plexiglass sheet

Polycarbonate is much tougher than acrylic, so it’s better for high‑impact or security uses.

Acrylic is still strong  but can crack or chip more easily under hard impact.

Acrylic is more optically clear, with about 92% light transmission and a glossier, “glass‑like” look, which is why it’s popular for displays and cases.

Polycarbonate is slightly less clear (around 88% light transmission) and can look a bit less shiny, but still appears transparent for most everyday uses.
